Transaero Airlines has started flying to Taipei Taoyuan airport from Moscow Vnukovo airport once a week.
A 218-seat B767-300 has been deployed on the route, offering 30 business seats in a 2-2-2 configuration, and 188 economy arranged in a 2-3-2 format. The flight departs from Moscow every Wednesday at 1500 and arrives in Taipei at 0650 the next day. The return leg leaves on Thursday at 0940 and lands in the Russian capital at 1730.
The airline has signed a codeshare agreement with China Airlines, giving the Taiwanese flag carrier the right of sale for the service from July 9 onwards.
The Russian carrier launched the route in 2004 after SARS, but cut it after a short period due to low demand.
