Singapore Airlines has launched a new online shopping mall service that will provide members of its KrisFlyer (KF) and PPS Club programmes with more options to earn miles.
Homepage of KrisFlyer Spree
KrisFlyer Spree allows members to purchase clothing, accessories, electronics, food and beverage items, toys, cosmetic products, and more, while also earning KrisFlyer miles.
Some of the many brands on offer
The online mall includes over 2,000 global brands and merchants, such as Apple, Bloomingdale’s, eBay and Marks & Spencer. The KF mileage accrual rate varies between brands, with Bose for instance offering 14 KF miles for every US$10 spent, while the Disney Store UK awards 19 KF miles for the same amount of spending.
The system works by allowing members to log into their KrisFlyer accounts on the mall’s online platform where members will be able to select any of the participating merchants. After choosing the brand from which they would like to make a purchase, customers are taken to a dedicated page for the brand.
Example of Purchase Conditions
It is highly recommended that users view the “Purchase Conditions” for instructions on how to make their purchase, as well as any limitations to the offer, which could affect their reward rates.
For example, eBay Australia offers 19 KF miles per every US$10 spent. However, items that fall under certain categories, such as motor, real estate, music, and charity will not earn any points.
Shop now and earn KrisFlyer miles
Users who have familiarised themselves with the relevant terms and conditions can then click on the “Shop Now” button, which will direct them to the official webpage of the merchants. Customers can then make their purchase which will automatically be recorded by KrisFlyer Spree upon successful payment.
Miles will be awarded after 90 days - which gives merchants the time to process and deliver all orders. In the event that a purchase is refunded, the user will not earn any points.
