28 May 2014 by Clement Huang

The St. Regis Chengdu will begin operations on July 18.

The hotel will be the 32nd St. Regis property worldwide, and the sixth in the Greater China region, following openings in Tianjin, Sanya (see here), Lhasa and Shenzhen (see here).

Located at the central business district marked by Tidu Street, The St. Regis Chengdu is also within a 3km distance from popular local attractions such as Tianfu Square, Ancient Jinli Street and the Temple of Marquis Wu.

The 29-storey hotel is part of a new mixed-used development called Huazhi Plaza. When completed, there will be four buildings altogether, and other than The St. Regis, there will be residential units, office spaces as well as entertainment and retail outlets.

In terms of the design, the interiors feature a blend of Art Deco style of the 1920s with traditional elements of Szechuan culture. The 279 guestrooms and suites range from 65sqm to 325sqm – among the largest available in the city. The signature St. Regis Butler Service will be available to all guests, providing 24-hour anticipatory service and stay customisations according to individual needs.

The St. Regis Chengdu will have six restaurants and lounges, including Social – the brand’s signature all-day dining restaurant; Tan Ting – a speciality Chinese restaurant; Yun Fu – a series of private dining rooms at Level 27; Decanter – a dedicated wine bar; Vantage XXVII – an outdoor sky lounge with commanding views of the city skyline; and The Drawing Room – featuring many signature St. Regis rituals such as champagne sabering and afternoon tea.

There is also over 1,300sqm of flexible meeting space available, which comes with the latest conferencing technology. For recreational purposes, the brand’s Iridium Spa concept is also available at The St. Regis Chengdu.

To celebrate its opening, the hotel is offering an introductory offer for RMB1,750++ where guests can book an overnight accommodation in a deluxe room inclusive of complimentary breakfast for two; unlimited domestic calls; high-speed wired or wireless internet; and one of the following perks:

  • Complimentary one-way limousine airport transfer
  • Complimentary one-way transfer & two entrance tickets to Giant Panda Research Base
  • Signature St. Regis afternoon tea for two
  • Complimentary 60 minutes body massage at Iridium Spa and 50 per cent off for second guest
