Qatar Airways has celebrated the inauguration of its all-business class daily service between Doha and London Heathrow.
First reported by Business Traveller back in February (see here), it was announced that the service would be operated by a narrow-body Airbus A319, and fitted with 40 business class seats in a 2-2 seating configuration.
The new service complements the Gulf carrier’s five existing daily flights between Doha London Heathrow. Flight QR015 departs Doha at 1450 and touches down in London at 2025. The return leg QR016 leaves the UK capital at 2155, before arriving back in Doha at 0640 the following day.
It has also been announced that the upcoming A380-operated flight on the route will operate as QR003 and QR004 from June 17. The route is currently operated by the B777, B787, A330, and A340, but the superjumbo will soon replace the 777.
There is no price difference between taking the all-business class flight and flying on business on the other five daily flights.
“The Doha to London Heathrow route is one of Qatar Airways’ most popular business class destinations and we continue to see increasing demand from passengers in Doha and those connecting onto London Heathrow from our network of worldwide destinations,” said Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker.
