BA to add six weekly flights to Vienna

12 May 2014 by GrahamSmith

British Airways will operate six additional weekly flights from London Heathrow to Vienna from October 26, it was announced today.

The carrier will also fly an extra weekly service to Stockholm and Athens from the same date.

The six additional Vienna services, which are daily apart from on Saturdays, will increase the total weekly frequency to 34 services a week. Flight BA702 will depart LHR at 1250 and arrive in Vienna at 1600 local time.

Stockholm's extra BA774 service will run on Tuesdays, when it will depart London at 0630 and land in the Swedish capital at 1000 local time, increasing the frequency to 40 a week.

Flights to Athens will increase to 21 weekly when the new Saturday BA640 service, which departs London at 0755 and arrives in Greece at 1330 local time, begins.

Robin Glover-Faure, BA's head of short-haul, said: "This increase means even better connections and more choice for customers travelling between London and the Austrian, Swedish and Greek capitals."

BA last week commenced a codeshare with US Airways (see news, May 7).
