Japan Airlines (JAL) has expanded its codeshare partnership with Jetstar Airways (JQ), as well as fellow Oneworld members Cathay Pacific Airways (CX) and Malaysia Airlines (MAS).
The expanded partnership will extend to JQ-operated flights between JAL's base in Tokyo (Narita) and Melbourne, as well as CX's services between Hong Kong and Perth, and MH's operations between Kuala Lumpur and Perth along with Darwin.
The new Oceanic codeshare flights will mean that, once implemented, JAL will serve a total of 11 routes to Australia – up from the current seven.
This news follows a similar move made by JAL in March, when the carrier also expanded its codeshare partnership with Qantas (QF) on flights between Sydney and Auckland, New Zealand.
