Courtyard by Marriott, Bilaspur opens its doors

Marriott International has introduced its Courtyard by Marriott brand to the Indian city of Bilaspur – part of the state of Chhattisgarh.

The Courtyard by Marriott, Bilaspur has officially opened its doors, and becomes the 11th Courtyard property in India. The brand is already present in Mumbai, Chennai, three in Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Kochi and Bhopal.

Bilaspur is well known for its production of silk saris, and is the centre of electrical power generation in India. The city is also an up and coming railway hub, as many companies have invested in the project as a means for increasing connectivity and thereby allowing them to tap into Bilaspur’s power generation potential.

Rajeev Menon, area vice president, South- Asia, Marriott International Inc said: “Our entry now into Bilaspur is a continuation of that specific growth strategy.  Central India has been growing and attracting business visitors in a big way, and Bilaspur being the country’s largest power generating hub is a city that is rapidly growing and offering numerous business opportunities.”   

Deluxe room

Courtyard by Marriott, Bilaspur features 106 guestrooms including 70 deluxe rooms, 30 superior rooms, two junior suites and four courtyard suites. All are equipped with modern amenities. In addition, the dining options include the brand’s signature restaurant, MoMo Café; an on the go MoMo 2 Go outlet; in-room dining, and a bar.

Finally, the hotel also offers the only banquet space in the city that comes with a pre-function area and indoor halls capable of comfortably accommodating over 1,000 people. There are also a number of meeting rooms, ideal for smaller business meetings.
