Plaza Premium Lounge has launched a new food and beverage venture at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).

Interior of Food Plaza

Named Food Plaza, the facility is open to the public, offering three food concepts and a bar near gate 36 of Terminal 1, with a view of the airport apron. The new venue features a stylish design with modern furnishings, and will offer four different dining choices.

Exterior of Food Plaza

The Terrace Express offers the opportunity for departing travellers to get a last taste of local Cantonese favourites before they leave Hong Kong. The store offers dishes such as steamed pork spare ribs with steamed rice served with Chef Sum’s double-boiled soup (HK$78/US$10), and Plaza Premium’s own signature fish ball rice noodle in soup with housemade XO sauce (HK$48/US$19).

Korean spread from Lee Fa Yuen Express

Meanwhile, Lee Fa Yuen Express is the fast-food outlet by a local chain of Korean restaurants. Available dishes include bibimbap with mixed vegetables and beef (HK$80/ US$10), which is served in a traditional sizzling stone pot, and spicy tofu pot (HK$88/US$11).

Moon Bar exterior

The Green Market Express is targeted at those who are health conscious, and provides a range of slow-pressed fresh juices (which are not passed through the typical centrifugal juice processor that damages the nutrients and colours of the juices with heat it generates), and salads. There is also a grab-and-go menu for travellers to buy food to take onboard – a welcomed option for those who are not sure about the inflight food they will be served.

Ham and cheese platter at Moon Bar

Finally, the Moon Bar offers a full drinking experience in a relaxed tall-table setting. A range of wines and draught beers will be on sale at prices between HK$70 (US$9) to HK$100 (US$12), and these can be accompanied by a selection of charcuterie platters and hot sandwiches.
