Waldorf Astoria lands in LA

Waldorf Astoria has confirmed plans to open a property in Beverly Hills.

The 12-storey Los Angeles hotel, due to open in 2017, will be adjacent to the Beverly Hilton and Art Deco in style.

It will be the brand’s first new build on the US west coast, offering 170 rooms.

The project is a partnership between a private investor group, led by Alagem Capital Group, and clients of Guggenheim Partners.

The nine-acre property will be transformed into a single destination with landscaped grounds and gardens, comprised of the new Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, The Beverly Hilton and Waldorf Residences.

“Beverly Hills is synonymous with luxury. This Waldorf Astoria hotel will be impeccably designed to provide unforgettable experiences reflective of its iconic location.”

The property will feature a triple-height lobby, the signature Waldorf Astoria clock, hand-painted murals of California landscapes and custom chandeliers.

Each room will include floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto oversized private balconies, with Villa Suites on the third floor opening on to manicured private garden terraces.

It is claimed that the rooftop pool deck will be the largest rooftop destination of its kind in Beverly Hills. The hotel will also house approximately 585 sqm of indoor meeting and special events space.
