Delta brings in new economy sleep kits

Delta Air Lines has introduced new sleep kits and updated amenities for economy passengers on long-haul flights.

The sleep kits include individual eye shades and earplugs.

On transatlantic flights of 3,850 miles or less from the US to Europe, economy passengers will receive a bottle of water after their meal and “updated snack offerings for morning and afternoon/evening arrivals”.

Domestic First Class (business) passengers and those in economy on domestic and international flights will be offered newly upgraded earbuds that will be theirs to keep.

And, a mid-flight ice cream service is also available on services flying from Europe to the US.

Joanne Smith, Delta’s senior vice president of in-flight service, said: “Delta continues to focus on making travel better by introducing amenities that our customers find both helpful and comforting when they travel.

“Adding new items in economy on international flights improves the quality of the product and helps our customers arrive at their destination rested, entertained and refreshed.”

  • Finally DL and AA starting to take a bit more seriously to passengers in Economy, something that UA is not doing decreasing their product. One of the reasons I just stopped flying UA. DL and AA are my options for North American airlines.
