28 Mar 2014 by Clement Huang

Hilton Worldwide has announced the opening of two new properties in Asia-Pacific.

First on the list is Hilton Bangalore Residences that has just opened today. The hotel is the second Hilton-branded property in the Indian city following the launch of Doubletree Suites by Hilton Bangalore earlier this year (see here).

“We are very excited to extend our portfolio in Bangalore with the opening of our second hotel in the city,” said Daniel Welk, vice president, operations – India. “India is a key strategic growth market for Hilton Worldwide. Presently, we operate hotels and resorts in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Vadodara, Pune, Goa and Shillim. Recently we also signed agreements for hotels in Agra, Jaipur and Lucknow.”

Located within the Embassy Golf Links Residence Park, Hilton Bangalore Residences is within a 2km distance from several Fortune 500 companies, including Dell, Goldman Sachs, and ANZ Bank. It is situated between the Koramangala and Indiranager neighbourhoods, and is roughly a 25-minute drive from commercial hotspots of M.G. Road and Sarjapur Outer Ring Road.

The 247-room hotel is owned by Umbel Properties, and managed by Hilton Worldwide. It features studio rooms along with one- and two-bedroom suites that measure between 45 sqm and 124 sqm. Each guestroom is designed to cater for both short- and long-stay guests, and offer dedicated living, dining and work areas. A kitchenette is available in every unit, and comes equipped with appliances such as a microwave, induction plates and refrigerator. As always, the signature Hilton Serenity Bed – offering added coil support from mattress springs of 7.5 inches (19cm) in height, complete with a diamond-quilted topper filled with 28oz (some 800 grams) of fluffy polyester – is also featured.

Hilton Bangalore Residences also offers four dining outlets, including all-day dining at Ministry of Food, al-fresco bar at The Salt Grill, lobby bar KLINX and coffee lounge re:cess.

Business services and computer workstations are available around the clock, and the hotel also offers two boardrooms for conferences and mid-sized meetings. There are also four meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 90 people. Recreational facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, 24-hour fitness centre, a spa and indoor kids play area.

Meanwhile, Hilton Worldwide will also be introducing its flagship Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand to one of South Korea’s largest city, Busan. Upon opening in 2016, the hotel will become the group’s sixth property in the country, joining Hilton Namhae Golf & Spa Resort, Hilton Gyeongju, Grand Hilton Seoul, Millennium Hilton Seoul and Conrad Seoul.

The 306-room Hilton Busan is part of the East Busan Tourism Complex, one of 10 major development projects in the city aimed at attracting more travellers. The fifth busiest cargo ports in the world, Busan has also recently become a popular international convention destination following the implementation of the Busan Metropolitan City MICE Industry Comprehensive Promotion Plan in 2012.

The location of Hilton Busan overlooks the Korea Strait, and will be in the immediate vicinity of several affluent residential areas, a golf course, and a theme park. The hotel is approximately 8km from the city centre.

"The introduction of our flagship Hilton property to Busan marks our commitment to continue our expansion in South Korea," said Andrew Clough, senior vice president of development, Middle East & Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide. "Busan, South Korea's second metropolis after Seoul, is a key destination for leisure and business, and we are thrilled to be the first leading global hospitality company that is part of the landmark East Busan Tourism Complex project.

Spanning over 75,000 sqm, the 10-story Hilton Busan will offer guestrooms and suites that start at a generous 56 sqm. It will have an all-day dining restaurant and bar, along with several meeting facilities including a ballroom. Business travellers can also opt to stay on the hotel’s executive floors and gain access to the club lounge. An outdoor pool, spa, health club, business centre and onsite parking facility will also be available.
