China Southern unveils its new B777-300ER

China Southern has unveiled the interior of its new B777-300ER aircraft.

The airline this week took delivery of the Boeing jet, which is the first of five it will receive this year, to be followed by a further five by 2016.

The Chinese carrier will deploy the B777-300ER on the only direct route between Guangzhou and New York on August 6.

The new aircraft can accommodate 309 passengers across four classes — four in first; 32 in business in 1-2-1 configuration; 44 in premium economy, arranged 2-4-2; and 227 economy seats in a 3-3-3 configuration.

First and business come equipped with a high-definition, touch-screen in-flight entertainment system with programmes in five languages — English, Chinese, French, Japanese and Korean.

The seats in first recline by 180 degrees, with an 82-inch pitch and a 33-inch seat width. Each comes with a 23-inch HD entertainment screen with Touch PMU handset.

Business can be adjusted into a fully-flat bed that is 76 inches long and and 29 inches width. The IFE screen is 15.4 inches.

 
Premium economy

 
Economy

The premium economy seat has a 38-inch pitch. When reclined, the seat-pan moves forward and a 123-degree reclined angle is provided. Other features include a cocktail table, footrest, a 10.6-inch IFE screen, an in-seat power outlet, a multi-port connector for personal devices, LED light and stowage space.

Economy seating is configured with an adjustable headrest and footrest, has a 32-inch pitch and a 19-inch width. All seats are fitted with an 8.9-inch entertainment screen and a USB port.
