United has started installing almost 500 charging stations in customer seating areas across American airports.
Chicago O'Hare International airport will be fitted with more than 110 of the new charging stations in Concourse B and C by the end of March.
And Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, Washington Dulles, New York LaGuardia and New Orleans airports will be also be installed with the power points over the coming weeks.
The new charging stations each have six 110-volt sockets and two USB ports, and are clearly signposted so that passengers can find them quickly.
"From installing charging stations to expanding access to in-seat power and Wi-Fi, United is working to deliver a more flyer-friendly travel experience for our customers," said Jimmy Samartzis, United's vice president of customer experience.
