Ritz-Carlton is returning to Australia with the opening of a new luxury hotel in Perth.
Scheduled to arrive in 2018, The Ritz-Carlton, Perth will be a mixed development that also contains residential apartments.
The 204-guestroom hotel will be housed in the riverside Elizabeth Quay development on the city's waterfront, in the commercial and business district adjacent to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
It will feature a "sweeping" view over the Swan River, and the nearby Kings Park and Botanical Garden.
Simon Cooper, president and managing director, Marriott International Asia, said: "We are delighted to bring the legendary Ritz-Carlton facilities and services to Perth, offering our guests a new destination and a new luxury experience in Western Australia."
The ground-breaking for The Ritz-Carlton, Perth is expected during 2015. The project will also encompass ground floor retail space, waterfront fine dining experiences, and luxury one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
With the signing of the Perth property, Ritz-Carlton will officially double its presence to 44 hotels and resorts in the Asia-Pacific region by 2018.
Ritz-Carlton opened its first India hotel late last year (see news, November 5).
