Strike leads to flight cancellations across France

18 Mar 2014 by GrahamSmith

A strike by air traffic controllers in France today will see a 30 per cent reduction in flights at Paris airports.

The one-day industrial action was called by ATC unions at airports in Paris, Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse, the latter three of which will see a 20 per cent reduction in flights.

Ryanair last night announced that 26 of its services to/from France will today be cancelled.

The airline's Robin Kiely said: "Ryanair regrets to advise passengers that 26 flights will be cancelled due to French ATC strikes and further delays and cancellations are likely.

"We sincerely apologise to all passengers who have had their travel plans disrupted by these unjustified ATC strikes.

"All passengers scheduled to fly on Tuesday March 18 should check the status of their flight on the ryanair.com website — where updates will be published — before travelling to the airport."
