Preferred Hotel Group has partnered with Chinese boutique hospitality brand Himalayas Hotels & Communities to add two new properties to its portfolio, which increases its China offerings to 23 members.
The two additions are situated in Qingdao and Nantong in eastern China, which reflects the group’s ambitions to expand its portfolio within the country’s lesser-known cities with developing economies.
Due to open at the end of the month, Himalayas Qingdao Hotel (pictured below) is the flagship property of Himalayas and is located two kilometres from Qingdao International Convention Center. The 208-room property offers complimentary wifi throughout, while facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, lounge bar, spa, and 1,000 sqm of flexible function space.
Situated in the fast-growing river port city at the edge of the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province, the Himalayas Nantong Hotel will open in April and is located between the old city centre and the new CBD. Each of the 80 guestrooms features complimentary wifi. Its Chinese restaurant, Jiu Jian Tang, will serve local Jiangsu and Zhejiang cuisine and will be equipped with indoor and outdoor seating plus private dining rooms.
“Our partnership with Himalayas Hotels & Communities is a significant development, as it exemplifies our commitment to expand the Preferred Hotel Group brand into secondary cities across China,” said Anthony Ross, executive vice president, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
