Pullman announces major expansion in Asia Pacific

12 Mar 2014 by Clement Huang

Pullman will expand its Asian portfolio by 47 new properties over the next four years, including 38 hotels in China, three in India, and two in Indonesia plus four other openings in major Asian destinations.

Accor’s upscale hotel brand has just opened its second property in Shanghai, which represents its 15th in China. As reported previously by Business Traveller Asia-Pacific (see here), the Pullman Shanghai South features 338 guestrooms and suites, an indoor pool, eight meeting rooms, plus three restaurants and two bars.

Within Asia, Pullman has debuted 15 properties in two years, with the most recent openings being the Pullman Kuala Lumpur Bangsar in Malaysia, the Pullman Saigon Centre and Pullman Danang Beach Resort in Vietnam, and the Pullman Phuket Arcadia in Thailand. Asia is now home to more than half of the brand’s establishments.

“Expansion in Asia Pacific is a priority for Pullman. We plan to open 47 new hotels here over the next four years to reach more than 90 hotels in the region, or over half the brand’s network. Our expansion focuses on key tourist destinations and strategic business hubs,” said Michael Issenberg, Pullman CEO hotel services, Asia-Pacific.

Outside of Asia, the brand’s network has also expanded significantly, with major hotels opening in key international capitals including London, Brussels, Bangkok, Jakarta and Sydney over the last two years.
