Hilton refurbishing Heathrow T4 hotel

6 Mar 2014 by GrahamSmith

Hilton Worldwide has announced that the guest rooms at Hilton London Heathrow Airport T4 are undergoing a complete refurbishment.

The first phase of the upgrade is due to be completed by July 2014.

It will see 161 rooms be overhauled with king-size beds, walk-in showers, mini-bars and modern furnishings "drawn from a neutral colour palette designed to induce serenity and relaxation".

The bathrooms have been redesigned with a minimalist colour palette of black and white with silver furnishings, while there will also be mist-proof mirrors and sound-proof windows.

Jurgen Sutherland, area general manager at the hotel, said: "Travelling – whether for business or leisure – should be as enjoyable an experience as possible and with our new-look rooms, we’re aiming to give our guests the best possible start to their journey.

"Being located where we are, it was natural for us to look to first class air travel for inspiration to deliver a calming atmosphere designed to promote a good night’s sleep and ultimately take the stress out of travelling."

Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 is located six minutes from the terminal and is the only airport hotel that offers direct access to and from T4 via a covered walkway.

Last week, Hilton Worldwide announced that it will open a property within Munich Airport under its Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand (see news, February 28).
