Carlson Rezidor and Missoni end hotel tie-up

3 Mar 2014 by GrahamSmith

Carlson Rezidor's tie-up with fashion house Missoni has come to an end.

The license agreement between the two companies officially terminated in late 2013 and, as a result, no more Hotel Missoni properties will be developed.

The two existing hotels in Edinburgh and Kuwait will continue to operate under the Hotel Missoni brand until June, when they will be rebranded.

Projects in Mauritius, Brazil, Oman and Turkey had also been under development (see news, December 2011).

The news comes less than two weeks after Carlson Rezidor announced it will launch two new global hotel brands next year (see news, February 20).

Wolfgang M Neumann, Carlson Rezidor's CEO, said: "This decision is in line with our long-term strategy and focus on our core brands Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson. It is equally aligned with the redefinition of Carlson Rezidor's global brand portfolio.

"We would like to thank Missoni for their trust in our group and the close cooperation over the past years."

Missoni CEO Alberto Piantoni added: "The Hotel Missoni adventure in partnership with Rezidor Group has been a positive and important experience for us.

"After years of collaboration, today our paths are splitting with Missoni having developed new strategic visions in the field of interior design and hospitality."
