Virgin Atlantic has unveiled its new movie-themed onboard safety video.
Timed to coincide with this weekend’s Academy Awards ceremony, the six-minute animated short will air from Saturday and pays tribute to numerous filmmakers and films.
Among those to receive a nod are Sergio Leone, 2001: A Space Odyssey, James Bond, Batman, Alfred Hitchcock and The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine.
Leon Trigg, Virgin Atlantic’s production manager, said: “As the pioneers of inflight entertainment, we wanted to create a video that reflected the airline’s love of cinema, whilst continuing to advance our reputation for quality and innovation.
“This video will be watched thousands of times a week, so it was vital it had the cheeky Virgin Atlantic edge we’re known and loved for.”
British comedienne Morgana Robinson handles the film’s voiceovers.
Earlier this month, Air New Zealand aired its new pre-flight safety video, feature five supermodels wearing swimwear on a beach in the Cook Islands (see news, February 12).
