Android mobile device users can now receive all travel related Star Alliance information at their fingertips. The Star Alliance Navigator App is now making its way to Android, over two years after having launched on Apple’s iOS platform.

The services and benefits of the app include flight search, an integrated database detailing all member carriers' schedules of more than 21,900 daily flights to 1328 airports in 195 countries, and a lounge finder that helps users to find the Star Alliance and member airline lounges located nearest to them.

In addition, there is a “Star Alliance Benefits” section available on the app that showcases the various offers the alliance delivers across its global network, such as frequent flyer programme advantages and lounge access.

The new app is available for download at the official Star Alliance website, or directly from the Google Play store. The app has been optimised for devices running Android 4.0 or above, but will supports lower versions down to 2.3.3 albeit with some limitations.
Star Alliance will be looking to deliver a dedicated tablet app for Android later this year – something that it launched for Apple’s iPad last year (see here).
