Wyndham Hotel Group will open a new “hybrid” property in Melbourne in mid-2014. Wyndham on William is being developed at a cost of more than AU$40 million (US$36.2 million), and represents just one of 29 other properties currently under management by Wyndham in Australia.
Wyndham on William
The 531-room “mixed used” development consists of two buildings opposite one another, with the taller 23-storey tower located along William Street, while the slightly smaller 21-storey building on Little Bourke Street. The development is in Melbourne’s central business district, and will provide both short-term as well as residential accommodation. It will offer a range of different room types including studio flats, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
Also opening in mid-2014 is the new four-storey hotel, TRYP Fortitude Valley in Brisbane. Located within walking distance of some of Brisbane city’s top attractions such as James Street Market and Chinatown, the hotel will feature an interior décor that mirrors elements of the city’s heritage, including the use of 150-year-old timber flooring. Rustic features fused with modern furnishings will be showcased throughout the hotel’s guestrooms and social spaces. In addition, there will be a ground-floor restaurant and bar, along with an executive meeting room.
