Easyjet has launched a four-times weekly service between London Luton and Venice.

The budget carrier is operating the new route, to its fifth Italian destination from Luton, on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The outbound service departs Luton at 1245 on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and lands in Venice at 1545. The return service takes-off from Venice at 1620 and arrives in Luton at 1725.

On Mondays, the outbound flight leaves at 1235 and lands in Venice at 1535. The return service departs Venice at 1610 and arrives back in Luton at 1715.

The inaugural flight took place yesterday. Gavin Shuker, MP for Luton South, became an honorary cabin crew member for the morning and welcomed passengers onboard the aircraft.

Sophie Dekkers, Easyjet’s UK market director said: “We’re thrilled to be launching our new services to Venice, Easyjet’s 39th destination from London Luton Airport.
“This uniquely beautiful city [Venice] offers something for everyone and we’re sure our easy and affordable services will be very popular.”

Easyjet also flies from London Luton to Catania, Milan, Olbia and Pisa.
