New pay-in lounge opens in Changi

10 Feb 2014 by Clement Huang

The only pay-in lounge located before immigration at Singapore Changi Airport has opened. The Haven by JetQuay is situated at level one of the arrival hall of Terminal 3, and is accessible for passengers who are in transit, arriving and have cleared custom, as well as departing passengers prior to check-in.

Lounge entrance

There has been a growth in the pay-in lounge concept over the last few years, with such services popping up in many airports around the world. Plaza Premium Lounge, in particular, has opened a venue in Hong Kong and another will open in Heathrow (see here and here).

The Haven by JetQuay is operated by Worldwide Flight Services, and offers shower and nap facilities, as well as meeting rooms, sitting lounge area, F&B counter and a business centre.

Lounge walkway

Measuring 558-sqm in size, the lounge interior features wood and stone finishes that have been infused with lighter hues to create a harmonious and cosy atmosphere. Sofas and armchairs are spread across the sitting area, and there is even a dedicated play zone for children.

The dining area allows customers to enjoy hot meals and light refreshments, which can be selected from an all-day menu. There are TVs with cable channels, as well as numerous reading materials from global newspaper and magazine brands.

Sitting area

The "lounge package" can be purchased for S$30 (US$24) for adults and S$18 (US$14) for children, and includes two hour's use of the facilities, including the F&B and showers.

In addition, there are 18 nap rooms that can each accommodate one adult and child. For families in need of more space, several of them can be connected. Guests who purchase the nap room package are also entitled to the same benefits as those who make use of the lounge package.

Nap room

The service is available for a minimum of three hours (S$50/US$39) and can be extended at an hourly rate (S$13/US$13).

There are two meeting rooms, with one capable of accommodating four, and the other six. Both rooms can be combined into one extended meeting space. There is also a fully equipped business centre that offers fax and copier machines, as well as computer workstations. Package prices for use of the meeting rooms start at S$40 (US$32) for the smaller room, and S$60 (US$47) for the other.

Shower facility

All package rates are subjected to 7 per cent GST and 10 per cent service charge. The services are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, but a limited number of reservations for the use of the nap rooms and meeting facilities will be accepted.
