United offers free US flight rebooking due to bad weather

5 Feb 2014 by Clement Huang

In response to the huge number of flight disruptions due to the winter weather impacting much of the USA, United Airlines is offering travel options for affected passengers.

Customers ticketed on flights to, from, or connecting through areas in the path of the storm can reschedule their itineraries with a one-time date and time change, with the airline waiving the change fees.

For instance, affected passengers travelling to, from, or through John F Kennedy International Airport between February 4 and 5 are allowed to reschedule their travel plans for free, as long as the rescheduled travel commences by February 8. For all other dates, the change fee will also be waived, but a difference in fare cost may apply.

More information about how to rebook can be found at www.united.com/travelwaivers.

The US has faced inclement weather over the past few weeks, which has resulted in hundreds of cancelled and delayed flights from many of United’s hubs including Chicago, Cleveland, Newark and Washington Dulles.
