United Airlines introduces new privileges for its Global Services customers

29 Jan 2014 by Clement Huang

United Airlines has launched a series of exclusive privileges for its Global Services customers.

The US carrier has opened a Global Services reception lobby for its top frequent flyers at the airline’s New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport. It is only available to members of the Global Services programme, and to customers travelling on long-haul international flights in United Global First.

Global Services is an invitation-only rewards programme.

The new lobby offers personalised check-in and travel services. Customers can access the reception via Premier Access entry located at door four of Terminal C’s mid-level departures area. It features four full-service check-in kiosks staffed by Global Services representatives wearing easily identifiable uniforms – grey suiting with gold ties or scarves.

Tarmac transportation

The airline has also expanded its tarmac transportation service, which it currently offers in Chicago and Houston, to Newark Liberty. Select Global Services members and United Global First customers who are connecting at Newark to domestic or international flights can opt for a chauffeur service, which uses Mercedes-Benz GL-Class vehicles.

It is only offered to passengers who have tight connection times, or who have a substantial distance to travel between connecting flights.
