Amari opens Thailand's first football-themed hotel

15 Jan 2014 by Clement Huang

Onyx Hospitality Group has officially opened the first-ever football themed hotel in Thailand, Amari Buriram United.

The 60-room property is owned by Buriram United Sport Hotel, and operated by Onyx under the Amari brand. Located in the North Eastern province of Buriram, the hotel is adjacent to the local football team’s Thunder Castle Stadium. Nearby attractions also include Phanom Rung Historic Park and Prasat Ban Khok Ngio.

Deluxe room

Amari Buriram United was designed by I’ll Design Studio, the same architects responsible for Thunder Castle Stadium. Modelled on a sports stadium, the hotel features 44 superior rooms, 14 deluxe rooms and two suites measuring 36sqm and 118sqm.

The distinct use of blue and white in all rooms resembles the football team’s home kit, while the bathrooms are designed to look like changing rooms.

Most rooms overlook a central area that includes a mini football field and swimming pool. Hotel guests can also gain access to a range of recreational facilities at the nearby Thunder Castle Stadium, including tennis courts, a jogging track, basketball court and a fully equipped gym.

The hotel also offers a number of dining options, including two bars and the themed all-day restaurant, Kick Off.

To celebrate the opening, Amari Buriram United is offering room rates starting at THB1,111 (US$34) per night, excluding tax and service charge until February 28.
