Skyteam to expand self-service kiosks at Narita

Global airline alliance Skyteam has tripled the amount of self-service kiosks at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport.

Skyteam has added 60 more kiosks, bringing the total to 90 common-use kiosks, shared amongst its member airlines.

“Tokyo Narita is an important airport for Skyteam: we have thousands of passengers flying on our services each day and customer feedback has been extremely positive,” said Tae Joon Kim, vice-president airport services of Skyteam.

Customers travelling on member carriers such as Air France, Aeroméxico, Alitalia, Delta Air Lines, Korean Air, KLM and Garuda (starting next year) can now check in at the alliance’s common-use kiosks, located at the lobby throughout piers A to F of Terminal 1 North.

These latest kiosks are seen as new synergies among Skyteam’s member airlines. “Our investment in technology is improving the services we offer at Narita by saving customers’ valuable time that they can put to better use before they fly,” said Kim.

Skyteam said the new self-service kiosks have decreased full-service check-in queues and lobby congestion.

Other airports with Skyteam members’ shared kiosks include London Heathrow Airport, Barcelona Airport, Beijing Capital International Airport, Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
