Indonesia and Thailand are the two biggest economies in Asean and passenger traffic between the two countries is increasing. The market for air travel between Thailand and Malaysia, also a major economic power in Asean, is also growing. The airline launched its maiden flight to Chiang Mai early this month (see here), and provides two daily services for the route. The carrier plans to increase its Bangkok-Chiang Mai service to four times daily after the delivery of two more 189-seat Boeing 737-800s aircraft in February. It also plans to launch a daily non-stop flight in February between Bangkok and Singapore, as well as new domestic services such as Bangkok-Hat Yai and Chiang Mai-Krabi.
