BA Executive Club ditches 'same address spend rule'

13 Dec 2013 by Tom Otley

British Airways has removed the "same address spend rule" for Executive Club members with a Household Account.

The change means that members can now spend their household Avios on up to five relatives or friends that do not live at the same address.

A statement from BA Executive Club said: "We've enhanced our Household Account offering, so you can now spend your household Avios on up to five family and friends that do not live at the same address as you.

"Simply add them using your new Family and Friends list. As with your Household Account, you can book reward flights for them with Avios.

"And since the details of your chosen five will be saved and filled in, you'll be able to make the bookings quickly and simply.”

To take advantage of the new rules, Executive Club members must have created a Household Account.
