Dutch carrier KLM has completed installing its new ultra-slim "e-leather" seats across its fleet of short-haul Cityhopper Fokker 70 and Embraer 190 aircraft.
The slimmer seats, manufactured by Acro, result in more leg room for passengers in both economy and Economy Comfort (premium economy).
The modified Fokker 70 has been fitted with 80 of the seats. The business class cabin has been reduced to six rows, while Economy Comfort passengers now have an additional three inches of leg room, and those in economy gain an one and two inches.
The seats are upholstered in blue e-leather, which is constructed from off-cuts and is environmentally friendly.
Warner Rootliep, General Manager UK & Ireland Air France-KLM, said: "KLM is committed to providing customers across the UK regions with the best travel experience possible and the introduction of these new seats is yet another example of how as a business, we are constantly striving to improve our services.
"We're delighted to be kicking off our winter flight schedule with the rollout of the new Economy Comfort seats on our Cityhopper fleet."
KLM Cityhopper is based at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, and is the regional airline subsidiary of the carrier.
