Changi Airport welcomes Ethiopian Airlines

9 Dec 2013 by Clement Huang

Changi Airport Group (CAG) has welcomed the arrival of Ethiopian Airlines, the latest carrier to begin operating at Singapore Changi Airport. The East African airline will operate a thrice-weekly service to Singapore from its base in Addis Ababa via an hour-long stopover in Bangkok.

The service will be operated by a Boeing 767-300 aircraft featuring a two-class configuration, with 24 seats in business and 208 in economy.

Singapore shares strong economic ties with Africa. According to research by the International Enterprise Singapore, the Lion City is Africa's largest Asean investor, especially in the sectors of consumer products, water preservation and construction, and recent growth in the continent has stimulated domestic consumption and further improved trade flows between the two sides.

In addition, Singapore Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines already maintain a strong code-sharing partnership with one another (see here), and they are both members of Star Alliance.

Ethiopian Airlines will operate at Changi T3, and the flight schedule is as follows:
