SIA integrates online booking with Google Now

3 Dec 2013 by Clement Huang

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is making its online booking system more intuitive and accessible by integrating information from the website directly into Google Now.

Available for both iOS and Android 4.1+ devices, Google Now provides users with the right information at the right time. By integrating SIA’s online booking engine into the programme, Google Now can show you what the weather will be like at your travel destination even before you board your flight.

To activate Google Now on iOS devices, users have to download and install the Google Search app, and input their Gmail login details. No installation is required for Android devices, as the app is pre-installed into the operating system.

Upon completing a booking through www.singaporeair.com, customers can indicate their Gmail address on the website, and Google Now will automatically be updated to reflect the reservation. Information that can be viewed on Google Now includes updates on the user’s flight schedule, as well as the airport terminal and departure gate for their flights.

“The integration of our website with Google Now will reduce the hassle of having to remember important travel information and provide customers with relevant information about their destinations,” said SIA’s senior vice president sales and marketing, Chin Yau Seng.
