Dorsett Hospitality International has signed management contracts with Mayland Group Malaysia and Far East Consortium International Limited to operate four new properties.

Three of the hotels, namely Dorsett Cheras, Kuala Lumpur; Dorsett Putrajaya; and Dorsett Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur are owned by Mayland Group Malaysia.

Dorsett Cheras, Kuala Lumpur will feature 319 guestrooms, a ballroom that can accommodate up to 220 people, an all-day dining facility, and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel will be connected to the new shopping mall, Cheras Sentral, and will open in Q1 of 2014.

Dorsett Putrajaya, meanwhile, will have up to 218 rooms. Putrajaya is a planned city that serves as the federal administrative centre of Malaysia. It is Malaysia’s third Federal Territory after Kuala Lumpur and Labuan. Dorsett Putrajaya is set to open in Q3 of 2014.

Dorsett Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur will feature the most number of guestrooms with 371. Sri Hartamas is an upper-middle-class suburb just west of Kuala Lumpur. The hotel will be operational in Q3 of 2015.

The fourth hotel is owned by Far East Consortium International Limited. Expected to open in Q4 of 2015, Sri Jati Hotel will be managed by Dorsett under its d.Collection brand, and will offer 154 guestrooms. The boutique hotel is located in Kuala Lumpur centre and is within walking distance of the popular landmark Bukit Bintang.

The four new hotels will increase Dorsett’s Malaysian portfolio to nine properties. The hospitality group currently owns and manages five hotels in the country, namely Dorsett Grand Labuan, Dorsett Grand Subang, Dorsett Regency Kuala Lumpur and two Silka Hotels: Silka Johor Bahru and Silka Maytower Hotel and Serviced Residences.
