The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is set to open a new property in the former Chinese capital of Nanjing during the first quarter of 2015. This is part of the operator’s continued drive to expand the hospitality brand in China (see here and here).
Nanjing is part of Jiangsu Province, and sits along the Yangtze River basin. The city is an important commerce centre for Eastern China, and is home to some 8 million people and many UNESCO heritage sites.
The Ritz-Carlton, Nanjing will be situated in Xiejiekou business district, about 30 minutes away from the airport. The district has numerous department stores and high-end retail outlets.
The property will feature 297 guest rooms, 32 suites and extensive meeting spaces, including a ballroom and seven function rooms. There will also be four restaurants and bars, including a Chinese restaurant serving Nanjing cuisine. The hotel will also house a spa operated by ESPA, along with an indoor pool and fitness centre.
