MAS increases KL-Auckland frequency

20 Nov 2013 by Clement Huang

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will be offering year-round direct daily services between its home base in Kuala Lumpur and Auckland, effective March 30 next year.

Originally flying the route six times a week, the carrier launched a seasonal service (from November 24 to January 27) featuring an additional seventh weekly flight between the two destinations. Due to positive demand, MAS has decided to relaunch the added weekly service on March 30, effectively initiating a permanent daily service on the route.

Flight MH133 will depart Kuala Lumpur every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 0845 and arrive in Auckland at 2245. The return flight will see flight MH132 leave Auckland every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 0115 and touch down in Kuala Lumpur at 0740.

The route will be serviced by the Boeing B777-200 aircraft, and feature a two-class configuration with 35 seats in business class and 247 in economy. In total, the weekly capacity for each direction will stand at 1,974 seats.

Other recent service expansions by MAS include its operations between Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne (see here).
