Air India to fly B787 to Heathrow

15 Nov 2013 by GrahamSmith

Air India will deploy a Boeing 787 aircraft onto its Mumbai to London Heathrow route from March.

The Dreamliner will replace the B777-300ER that currently operates the daily service between the two cities.

The switch is scheduled to take place on March 30.

Outward flight AI131 leaves Mumbai at 0630 and arrives at LHR at 1130 local time. The return service departs Heathrow at 1315 and lands at Mumbai at 0305 the following day.

In August, Air India was stopped from flying its Dreamliners to Tokyo or Osaka because it reportedly failed to provide Japanese authorities with the information they required about its B787 modifications (see news, August 19). The ban was lifted in October.
