Langham to open Jakarta property

Langham Hospitality Group has signed an agreement with developer Agung Sedayu Group to operate a new property in the capital of Indonesia.

Located in the new District 8 complex at Sudirman Cental Business District, The Langham, Jakarta provides easy access to the city’s financial, cultural and entertainment centres.

Scheduled to open in 2017, the new property is designed by Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart architectural firm. It will offer 170 guestrooms and 30 suites, and feature a blend of classic and contemporary interiors.

Rooms start at 42 sqm, while the penthouse will measure a generous 327 sqm and feature views of Jakarta’s CBD. The Langham, Jakarta will offer a wide range of room configurations, including studio, one- and two-bedroom suites.

Guest bedroom

Guests staying on the executive floor or one of the 20 suites are also entitled to use the hotel’s club lounge facility, which offers complimentary food and beverages throughout the day and provides a concierge service.

Bathroom

There are a number of dining options available. Palm Court, which was first introduced by The Langham, London in 1865 will be in the new hotel and offer the brand’s signature afternoon tea. T’ang Court, a Cantonese restaurant similar to its Michelin-starred counterpart at The Langham, Hong Kong, will also operate at the property.

Lobby reception

There will also be a sake and sushi bar, along with an all-day dining restaurant serving international cuisine that can accommodate 120 guests. Finally, customers looking to fill themselves with light snacks and drinks there is the Sky Bar and Lounge, and a pool side bar.

In terms of facilities, travellers can enjoy the Chuan Spa, which provides treatments inspired by traditional Chinese medicine philosophies, along with a fitness centre and an indoor swimming pool.

The Langham, Jakarta will showcase more than 2,100 sqm of flexible event space, including a ballroom measuring 900 sqm that can be divided into two separate areas, and an additional 11 meeting rooms.

Langham Hospitality Group’s aim is to operate 50 properties within the next five to 10 years (see here).
