Dragonair to launch Penang service

14 Nov 2013 by Clement Huang

Dragonair, sister airline of Cathay Pacific, will operate 10 weekly flights between Hong Kong and Penang from March 30.

The city will be the second destination in Malaysia that Dragonair flies to. The carrier currently operates daily flights between Hong Kong and Kota Kinabalu, which it first launched in 1985.

Penang represents the third-largest economy amongst the Malaysia states, with manufacturing being a key industry. Tech companies such as Dell, Intel and AMD maintain a significant presence in the city.

The Hong Kong–Penang service will be operated by Dragonair’s fleet of two-class A330-300s. In addition to a daily afternoon flight out of Hong Kong, extra services will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning.
