In commemoration of the company’s 15th anniversary, Plaza Premium Lounge has unveiled its new flagship lounge at the West Hall of Hong Kong International Airport. At 1,394 sqm, the new facility is the largest pay-in lounge in Asia (see here).

The Galleria seating area

Designed by Kinny Chan of Kinny Chan & Associates, the lounge is divided into several zones which aim to provide travellers with a diverse and immersive experience. Upon walking past the reception area, guests are greeted by a contemporary main lounge area boasting a wide range of sleek designer seats.

Guests travelling alone can choose to take a seat at one of the honeycomb-style booths, while couples and larger parties will appreciate the use of the communal tables. There is also an exclusive bar that offers a sweeping view of the runway. The earthy palette of the lounge offers a nice contrast to the abundance of natural light provided by the full-length windows.

According to Plaza Premium, each area of the lounge is designed to fulfill an individual purpose, be it to enable travellers to relax, dine or work. For instance, the lounge and bar area feature soft lighting and subtle textures to provide a more intimate and private feel, while the dining area engages guests with its lively interactive open kitchen and food on display.

There is also a brand new dining concept at this Plaza Premium Lounge called The Market Place, with individual stalls offering various items, including a tea station serving Chinese “milk tea”, a salad bar, as well as a noodle bar offering the brand’s signature Hong Kong-style fishball noodles.

In addition, the exclusive bar known as The Hub delivers a varied range of hot and cold tapas, daily soups and mezza platters. Guests seated in this area can also enjoy an a la carte menu featuring tasty delights such as the highly recommended rack of lamb slow-roasted with Himalayan salt and rosemary and served with a side of thin-cut roasted potatoes. Specially selected wines complement the extensive range of dishes.

Local favourites available at the lounge

A fun and unique feature is the wine dispenser machine available at the dining area. With a selection of 10 different complimentary wines (five reds and five whites), lounge customers can operate the machine easily and fill themselves a glass. Plaza Premium intends to change the wine selection regularly, thereby ensuring a different experience for wine lovers.

An array of quick bites available

There is also a work area which provides free wifi and power sockets, along with private workstations that also offer an open view of the airport runway. Finally, the lounge has two shower facilities for guests to freshen up, each stocked with organic Jasmin Aromatique products from Australia.
