Carlson Rezidor will open two new-build hotels in Moscow in 2016.

The Radisson Congress Hotel, Moscow will have 400 rooms while the adjacent Park Inn by Radisson Hotel, Moscow will have 600.

Both properties will be located on the grounds of the historic All-Russian Exhibition Centre, which was built in 1935 and is today a 2,375,000 sqm city park and tourist attraction. The centre is four miles north of the Kremlin.

The upscale Radisson Congress Hotel will feature free high-speed wifi, a conference centre of 4,000 sqm (which is also accessible for guests staying at the Park Inn by Radisson), restaurants, bars and lobby lounge facilities, and a gym.

The midscale Park Inn by Radisson Hotel will contain meeting rooms, restaurant and lobby bar facilities, and a gym.

Wolfgang M Neumann, president & CEO at Rezidor, said: "These signings bring our portfolio in Greater Moscow to 11 hotels with 3,700 rooms in operation and under development.

"The properties will further strengthen our network in the capital city and open new opportunities especially in the MICE segment - the Radisson Congress Hotel will have the largest conference facilities of any international branded hotel in Moscow."

Last week, it emerged that Carlson Rezidor is to open its first property in Algeria (see news, October 14).
