French hotel group Accor has launched an upgraded wifi offering at over 200 of its properties across Germany.
Guests can choose between a free basic wifi internet service, offering speeds up to 256 KB per second, or a premium version for €6 per day or €19 for a week’s access.
The premium service offers speeds suitable for video streaming or downloading, as well as the use of internet telephony services such as Skype, and allows guests to use up to three devices simultaneously.
The group says it has laid 600km of fibre optic cable at over 200 Accor hotels in Germany over the last few months, with more properties to follow.
The news follows Accor’s recent announcement of a similar dual-tier wifi offering in the UK (see news August 6).
