Hilton Worldwide has opened the first Doubletree hotel in Portugal.
The 139-room Doubletree by Hilton Lisbon - Fontana Park, which opened today, was previously a small iron factory.
It is located 3.3 miles from the airport and less than 6.2 miles from the Gare do Oriente, which connects the capital with Spain and France via the high-speed train network.
Features include a restaurant, lounge, and an interior open-air courtyard complete with a waterfall.
John Greenleaf, global head, Doubletree by Hilton, said: "It is with great excitement that we open the first DoubleTree by Hilton in Portugal.
"We now welcome guests to experience our 'care' service culture, built around the idea of creating a rewarding experience for guests, team members and the community, to travellers and residents of this great European capital city."
Last week, Hilton announced it will open a second Doubletree property in Dublin next year (see news, October 4).
