Abu Dhabi Airports yesterday welcomed the inaugural flight of Philippine Airlines (PAL) that arrived from Manila. This marked the commencement of a five-times-weekly service between the Philippine capital and Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH).
The route sees PAL resume services to Abu Dhabi after an absence of more than 15 years. It is operated by an A330-300 and features a two-class configuration with 39 seats in premium economy, and 375 in economy.
PAL now plies the route on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, when it departs from Manila at 1625 and arrives in Abu Dhabi at 2145. The return leg leaves the United Arab Emirates capital at 2315 and arrives back in The Philippines at 1225 the following day.
It has been an eventful year for PAL, which has recently been removed from the EU blacklist (see here), and subsequently launched a route to London (see here), as well as undergoing a major fleet modernisation (see here).
