Tune Hotels gears up for Melbourne opening

1 Oct 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Budget hotel group Tune Hotels will open its first Australian property on November 1, a 225-room hotel located on Swanston Street.

The property is situated two tram stops from the city's central business district, and close to Lygon Street, known as 'Little Italy' because of the area's large number of Italian restaurants and cafes.

Tune Hotel Melbourne will follow the same no-frills concept launched in south east Asia and brought to the UK in 2010 (see news, August 2010), with guests paying for optional "add-ons" such as towels, wifi and TV access, breakfast and late check-out / early check-in.

According to the group's Facebook page the hotel will feature a "quiet area" (pictured above), where guests can "surf the net, kick back on the sofa, have great conversations or gather with friends and family".

Guests who book a room at the hotel before October 9 (for stays between November 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014) stand a chance of winning 100,000 Big points within sister company Air Asia's Big loyalty programme.
