Members of British Airways, Asia Miles, Singapore Airlines and Etihad Airways' frequent flyer programmes can now earn air miles when spending on an HSBC Premier Mastercard.
The rewards programme began this week with the relaunch of the UK bank's credit card.
For every £5 spent on the HSBC Premier card, members can earn five airline frequent flier miles with Avios, Etihad Guest, Asia Miles, or Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer.
While this breaks down to one airmile per £1 spent, it only comes into practice each time £5 has been spent. So a £29 total spend would net 25 airmiles, not 29.
HSBC works out the rewards monthly and allots one point for each £5 spent - but one point is worth five airmiles.
At the end of each month, a Premier cardholder's total monthly spend is divided by five and then that figure converted into airmiles.
