Plaza Premium Lounge will soon be opening two pay-in lounges and a day hotel at Bengaluru International Airport in Bangalore, India.
The lounges – designed by Australian Mitchel Squires – showcase Bangalore’s reputation as “The Graden City”, offering glass ceilings, lush greenery and timber furnishings.
Both are located airside, one each in international and domestic departures. They will offer a selection of food and beverages, a seating area, shower facilities, a business centre and a spa & massage area. The pay-in lounges will be available to all, but rates have not yet been set.
The Plaza Premium Lounge Day Hotel will be located landside, and will be Bangaluru’s first transit hotel service. Open 24 hours, the 6,100-sqm property will have rooms with a shower facilities, beds, wifi, TV and an intercom system. Rooms can be rented overnight or for a number of hours – pricing details have yet to be set.
Due to the ongoing construction, there are currently no specific opening dates for the lounges or hotel. However, a spokesperson for Plaza Premium Lounge revealed that the company expects to open the domestic departures lounge by October, and the international departures lounge and hotel is tentatively set to open in December.
The company’s existing Indian establishments include venues at New Delhi and Hyderabad airports.
The news follows the announcement made last month by Plaza Premium Lounge Management’s chief executive officer Song Hoi-See that the company will establish 50 Plaza Premium Lounges by 2015 (see here).
