Saudi Arabian Airlines will be enabling full connectivity on its new B777-300ER later this week.
With the new Mobile On Air and Internet On Air services, passengers on this aircraft can email, browse the internet, update social media and text and talk on the phone.
The services will be available on flights between Saudi Arabia, the UK and the US. Until now, access to the technology has been limited to Saudia’s A330 fleet.
Mobile On Air and Internet On Air connectivity will be line fitted to all remaining deliveries of Saudia’s B777-300ERs.
This week's service entry comes five months after the airline announced a deal for an order of 20 B777-300ER aircraft.
Saudia joins a number of carriers due for increased onboard connectivity this year, including Qatar Airways, Cebu Pacific and ANA (see stories here, here and here).
