Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will be expanding its chef-on-call service from September 5. Open to first and business class passengers, the service will now extend to the carrier's Asian routes.
The chef-on-call service was launched in 2006 and is currently available on flights between Kuala Lumpur and Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Istanbul, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Auckland. Now passengers travelling to and from Kuala Lumpur and Narita, Osaka, Incheon, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong in first and business class can also enjoy the benefits.
They can choose from an array of dishes, including Malaysian classics such as Ayam Masak Merah (chicken cooked in spicy tomato-based gravy with buttered rice), Daging Masak Gulai Kampung (traditional beef curry), menus for the health conscious and popular Western dishes.
MAS offers 20 menu choices in first, and 15 in business class. Meals can be selected up to 24 hours prior to boarding by visiting the MAS chef-on-call website, or calling the airline’s call centre.
