22 Aug 2013 by ScottCarey7

Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced revisions to its flight services for the remainder of the fiscal year, ending March 31, 2014.

The changes include the introduction of the B787 Dreamliner on to the Tokyo Narita to Sydney route from December 1, 2013 and on the Narita to Bangkok route from December 2.

Of its 14 weekly round-trips between Tokyo Haneda and Bangkok the aircraft will be upgraded from B767-300ERs to B777-200ERs for ten of the services and B787 Dreamliners for the remaining four. Passengers travelling between Narita and Vancouver will be able to sample the JAL Sky Suite II on the B767-300ER from December onwards.

The newly reconfigured B777-300ERs which are currently available on the London route (see news, November 2012) will continue their roll out across the JAL network, operating the Narita-Los Angeles route from November and Narita-Chicago from January.

JAL will also be increasing certain domestic routes with additional daily frequencies, including flights between Haneda and Sapporo, Osaka and Izumo.

The carrier is also halving its weekly services between Narita and Beijing from double daily to daily between November 25 to December 8.

ANA has also announced changes to its annual schedule, including the introduction of Premium Economy on to its B787 Dreamliner service between Haneda and Frankfurt (see news, August 22).
